The Issues
A Clear Agenda for LD1
These priorities were shaped by conversations with residents across Lake Forest Park, Kenmore, Woodinville, and Bothell — the people who know this district best.
Property Tax Relief
Property taxes in LD1 have increased dramatically, threatening to price out the working families who built these communities. Cliff supports meaningful property tax reform, senior exemptions, and caps that protect long-term homeowners from being taxed out of their homes.
Public Safety
Every family in LD1 deserves to feel safe. Cliff supports fully funding local law enforcement, restoring accountability in the courts, and investing in mental health crisis response as a complement to — not replacement for — police services.
Small Business & Economic Growth
Small businesses are the economic engine of LD1. Cliff will fight to reduce regulatory red tape, streamline permitting, lower the B&O tax burden on small operators, and create conditions where local entrepreneurs can hire, grow, and thrive.
Infrastructure & Transportation
From SR-522 to local arterials and transit connections, LD1's infrastructure needs real investment. Cliff will prioritize transportation projects that reduce commute times, improve road safety, and connect our communities more efficiently.
Education Excellence
LD1's kids deserve a world-class education that prepares them for the future. Cliff supports parental involvement, transparency in curriculum, teacher accountability, and funding models that follow students rather than systems.
Responsible Environmental Stewardship
The Pacific Northwest is one of the most beautiful places on earth — and Cliff intends to keep it that way. He supports practical environmental policies that protect our natural resources without destroying jobs or making energy unaffordable for working families.
Fiscal Responsibility
Washington taxpayers work hard for their money. Cliff believes state government should spend it wisely, audit programs that aren't delivering results, and resist the impulse to solve every problem by raising taxes on the people who can least afford it.
Housing Availability
The housing crunch affects families across LD1. Cliff supports removing barriers to housing production, opposing one-size-fits-all mandates from Olympia, and empowering local communities to shape their own development in a way that fits their character.
